Features Overview: This camera will record still images or moving images (MPEG1) with mono audio onto a Sony Memory Stick. An 8MB Memory Stick is included with the camera. This model has a 1-13/16' TFT LCD screen with 123,200 pixels and an optical viewfinder. Still or moving images can be played back on the unit's LCD screen, or transferred to a computer where the images can be displayed or manipulated with the use of compatible software. Images can be transferred to a computer by using either the supplied USB cable, or by purchasing an optional Memory Stick reader for the computer.
Image Device: For optimal image quality, the camera uses a 1/1.8' 3.3 Million Pixel Super HAD CCD image sensor. Lens: This camera uses a Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar lens, which uses a unique coating that reduces glare and lens flare, while providing improvement in detail and contrast. Data Compression: Movie: MPEG-1 (mono audio); Still: JPEG. In addition to JPEG, you can also select TIFF, which records a TIFF (uncompressed) file in addition to the JPEG file, TEXT, which records a GIF file in black and white for more clarity when shooting a page of text, or E-Mail, which records a small size image (320x240) in addition to the selected image size. A/D Conversion: This camera uses 14-bit DXP A/D conversion.
LCD Screen: In addition to the optical viewfinder, the camera has a 1-13/16' color LCD screen. The LCD screen allows you to view an image before taking a picture and replay images that have been stored in memory. To increase battery life, you can turn the LCD screen off. Viewing Images: Still and moving images can be played back on the camera's color LCD screen, or the images may be transferred to a computer, where they can be displayed or manipulated with the use of compatible software. In addition, the images can be played back on a television (NTSC or PAL), if the television has an RCA composite video input. Zoom: The camera has 3X optical zoom and 6X digital zoom.
Focusing: In addition to auto focus, you can manually focus the camera by choosing one of the following focus settings: macro, 0.1 m, 0.2 m, 0.3 m, 0.5 m, 0.8 m, 1.0 m, 1.5 m, 2.0 m, 3.0 m, 5.0 m, 7.0 m, 10.0 m, 15.0 m, or infinity. Auto Power-Off: If you do not operate the camera for approximately 3 minutes during recording or playback, it will turn off automatically to prevent battery wear. Note: The Auto Power-Off function will not operate when playing back moving images, playing back a slide show, or when a connector is plugged into the USB jack, the DC IN jack, or the ACC jack.
